At calmlyrooted.com, we handle your “Personally Identifiable Information” (PII) with the same clinical precision as our curated product offerings. We believe that privacy is a fundamental component of your wellness journey. This protocol outlines how we collect, protect, and utilize your information in accordance with US privacy law and information security standards.

Calmly Rooted is an educational and product-review website. We do not sell products directly — when you follow a link on our site and make a purchase, you buy from the brand on the brand’s own website, under that brand’s policies.

Section 1 – Information Acquisition

We collect information in two ways. Information you give us: when you subscribe to our newsletter, fill out a contact form, respond to a survey, or leave a comment, you may be asked for your name and email address.

Information collected automatically: like most websites, we use analytics tools that record pages visited, time on site, device and browser type, and general location (city/state level) — see Section 4 on cookies. We do not take orders on this site and we never collect payment card details.

• Purchases made through our links happen on the brand’s website, protected by that brand’s security and privacy policies.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) except for trusted partners who assist in operating our website and servicing our community under strict confidentiality.

• Third-Party Links: We may include third-party products or services. These sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We hold no responsibility or liability for their content, though we seek to protect the integrity of our own site.
• Service Providers: We share information only with the providers who run parts of this site — for example, our email provider holds newsletter subscriber addresses so we can send mail, and Google Analytics processes site usage data. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic. You can opt out using Google’s Analytics Opt-out browser add-on.

Section 6 – Regulatory Compliance (CalOPPA & COPPA)

• California Online Privacy Protection Act: We comply with CalOPPA requirements. Users can visit our site anonymously. Our Privacy Policy link is conspicuous and includes the word ‘Privacy.’ You will be notified of any changes on this page.
• Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act: This site is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Section 7 – Fair Information Practices & Individual Redress

Should a data breach occur, we will notify you via email within 7 business days. We adhere to the Individual Redress Principle, ensuring individuals have the right to legally pursue enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law.

Section 8 – CAN-SPAM Act Compliance

We collect your email to send information, respond to inquiries, and market to our community. We agree to:

• Not use false or misleading subject lines or email addresses.
• Identify messages as advertisements where reasonable.
• Include our physical business address.
• Honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests promptly.
